IN THE HEART OF THE RUHR METROPOLIS – ONE OF THE LARGEST METROPOLITAN AREAS IN EUROPE. FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE – A VIABLE HYDROGEN MARKET.

THE HYDROGEN AGE IN ESSEN HAS BEGUN

As the energy capital of Europe, Essen is an important anchor point of the energy and climate revolution. Essen as a business and energy location is home to top companies and research institutions that represent a complete hydrogen ecosystem.

Companies, start-ups and research are working hand in hand on the hydrogen future. What´s unique here is the high density of companies and the exemplary networking of the energy sector and other industries with universities, institutions and research facilities, combined with national and international cooperation, create excellent conditions for the hydrogen age.

Essen is the capital of the H2 makers: Public and private players in Essen are shaping innovative future projects and thus making a significant contribution to the development of a sustainable and viable H2 market.

IN ESSEN, THE FUTURE IS MADE WITH NEW ENERGY

HYEXPERT ESSEN

FEASIBILITY STUDY H2-ECOSYSTEM FOR EMISSION-FREE AND SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY

The city of Essen was selected as one of 13 HyExperts regions to develop an integrated regional hydrogen concept with funding from the BMVI. The aim is to drive the development of green hydrogen infrastructure in Essen.

EWG coordinates the H2 strategy for all of Essen in order to bundle the competence of our top companies and institutions. We are the right point of contact for companies interested in hydrogen.

International exchange is also needed for a rapid H2 market ramp-up. Trade fairs such as E-world energy & water bring together hundreds of exhibitors from various countries to discuss and shape the future of energy. In addition, there are specific H2 congresses such as the Handelsblatt Hydrogen Summit and the new trade fairs “Green Steel World” and “Hydrogen Tech World”, which will celebrate their premieres in Essen next year. This makes Essen the industry meeting place for the European energy industry.
